Health and Wellness: We address the vital topic of healthcare, ensuring students are informed about healthcare access and equity. The summit offers insights into healthcare professions, public health challenges, and ways to promote community health and wellness. Recognizing the significance of mental health and well-being, the summit prioritizes discussions around mental health awareness, resilience, and coping strategies. Empowering students to prioritize self-care, we provide tools to build emotional strength and support one another.
Legal: Empowering students with an understanding of legal rights and advocacy, our summit explores the legal field. Participants will gain insights into social justice, civil rights, and pathways to pursue a career in law.
Financial Literacy: Understanding the importance of financial well-being, the summit focuses on enhancing financial literacy among students. Through engaging workshops and practical sessions, we equip students with essential financial skills, such as budgeting, saving, and investing, empowering them to make informed financial decisions and secure a brighter financial future.
Our diverse array of sessions, interactive activities, and inspirational speakers will create an enriching environment where students can network, learn, and collaborate. Community Champions: Empowering the Homeless with Porte Agency
Purpose:
Join us on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023, at 5 PM near Lake Street, Minneapolis for a transformative night of community building and empowerment as we focus on the homeless community. This event is a powerful opportunity for people from all walks of life to come together and show support and solidarity with those experiencing homelessness.
Through interactive activities, we aim to create understanding and awareness of the challenges faced by individuals without homes. Together, we will explore how we can collaborate to address these issues and work towards sustainable solutions. Engaging speakers from local organizations will share their resources, experiences, and expertise in working with the homeless community, offering valuable insights and inspiring action.
Let's unite to demonstrate our care and commitment to creating a more compassionate and inclusive community for everyone. This inspiring gathering is made possible through our partnership with the MN Department of Health, who will provide vaccinations and essential resources to those in need.
During this memorable evening, you can look forward to a BBQ, shoe and clothes drive, poetry slam, live music, and the distribution of hygiene kits. Together, we will make a positive impact on the lives of those experiencing homelessness, fostering a stronger and more compassionate community.
